Mangalore Taluk Literary Meet on April 30th

27.04.10 Mangalore : At a press conference called by current Mayor, Ms.
Rajani Dugganna, who is also the executive chairperson of the reception
committee for the ensuing Mangalore Taluk Literary conference on April 30,
informed the assembled press representatives that one-day literary treat
will be served on April 30 from morning till night at the Town Hall
auditorium for lovers of literature. Ms. Dugganna spoke at Pathu Mudi in
Kodialbail on Tuesday noon (April 27).

The Taluk level literary meet would be inaugurated by Sa. Shi. Marulayya,
former President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, which is the mother institute
at the State level. Bola Chittaranjandass Shetty, a celebrated local Kannada
and Tulu writer, will preside over the one-day conference, the Mayor said.
An elaborate programme has been drawn up, with a village atmosphere created
by Suvarna Arts of Mulky at the city Town Hall precincts. A procession will
be taken out from the DC’s office to the Town Hall before the Literary
Conference opens of Sunday, with the President seated in a car. The
procession will be flagged off by additional DC of D.K district in
Mangalore, Prabhakar Sharma. All the programmes at the meet are time - bound
and on the dot, Ms. Rajani Dugganna calmly stated. Cultural bonanza will be
provided after the various sessions are conducted, i.e. between 7 P.M and 8
P.M, she added. A Tala - Maddale Yakshagana on “Vali Moksha” will follow
from 8 P.M to 10.30 P.M

Corporators Ranganath Kini, Roopa Bangera, Sudhakar Shetty were present in
the press meet. Savottam Anchan and Ganesh Amin Sankmar also spoke Local
Taluk Office bearers and Hari Krishna Punaroor, former KSP chief graced the
meet. Ganesh Ameen Sankmar made the opening speech and conducted the
proceedings at the press meet.
