CPIM organises Rastha Roko as part of a General Strike to halt price hike

27.04.10 Mangalore : The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Dakshina Kannada, organized ‘Rastha Roko’ as part of a general strike to halt price hike on petrol, diesel and food products near Clock Tower Today (April 27, Tuesday.)

Speaking at the protest meeting, secretary of CPI(M) B Madhava said that today 13 (thirteen) political parties have combined to organize the protest against state government and central government for the price hike of Rs 2 on diesel and Rs 4 on Petrol. He urged the government to reduce the price of the food grains and the fuel prices as well.

He also said that the central government is not interested to hear the problems of general public. Sunil Kumar Bajal, secretary, CPI (M) called upon the people to raise slogans against the state and central government, which brought loads of suffering in their lives.

CPIM leaders K. Balakrishna Shetty, Sukumar, B. Madhava, Babu Devadiga, Sashidhar Shakti Nagara, Dayananda Shetty,  Bharati  Bolara,  Muneer Katipalla were present and addressed the huge gathering. The speakers referred to price rise on essential commodities of daily life, apart from diesel, petrol, chemical manure and other industrial products used by farmers.
