Devru

27.11.09 : Sadhu Kokila Directed commercial ingredients film
offered a lengthy screenplay. This is the remake of Tamil film
‘Thalainagar’. A rowdy cannot transform as good human being.
It is difficult for him even after surrendering the film
‘Devru’ focus in this tragic end cinema.
The lack of proper editing techniques and comedy coming as an
intruder on screen is not the right way of screenplay. The
action scenes in excess the demand of fans of action hero
Vijay test the patience. Without any logic the same old
system of hero bashing continues even in this film ‘Devu’.
Lingadevaru alias Devru (Vijay) is a roadside rowdy. He is
with four friends ready to do anything for money. The gang of
Devru is not harmful to women once they know they are
connected to someone. The deals of Devru are very cruel and
disturbing to the normal viewers. Devru is a hot property in
the family of three siblings – Rami Reddy, Bandi Reddy and
Nagi Reddy all criminal background persons. Devru works for
this gang for sometime but he is not liked by Bandi Reddy
rises problems. For lack of loyalty Devru leaves this gang and
operates in his own strength. Yet Rami Reddy (Ravi Kaale) has
affection to Devru. But when Bandi Reddy (brother of Rami
Reddy) is killed by a gang member of Devru the tense situation
thereafter makes Devru to give up rowdy activities. He
surrenders but the cop (played by Rockline Venkatesh)
understanding his nature sets him free as there is no proof
for his nefarious activities in the past. Now Devru ekes out a
living for himself and his friends. But Rami Reddy wants to
take the revenge. How Devru bounce back again from normal life
to take deadly steps is the climax portion of the film.
Vijay shows his supremacy in action scenes once again. In two
emotional scenes he shows his talent how he can perform.
Rockline Venkatesh as a smiling cop comes on the screen shines
among others in the film. Ravi Kale as Rami Reddy suits well.
Pragna as heroine has nothing much to do.
Sadhu Kokila as director is not convincing but as comedy actor
wins and in the music department he is average. Only two fast
numbers for this film in his music are peppy.
