Filmfare Awards Amitabh Bachchan won the 'Best Actor'

28.02.10 : Superstar Amitabh Bachchan won the 'Best Actor' award in a
leading role (male) for 'Paa' at the 55th Filmfare Awards. Vidya Balan won
the 'Best Actor' award in a leading role (female) for the same movie, 'Paa'.
Aamir Khan-starred '3 Idiots' bagged six awards.
Amitabh Bachchan was not present to receive the award. He and his family
boycotted the 'Filmfare Awards' in the wake of a "false"report published
about Aishwarya's pregnancy in Mumbai Mirror. Mumbai Mirror and Filmfare
belong to the same publishing group. Vidya Balan accepted the trophy in
Amitabh's absence.
The gorgeous Katrina Kaif, who wanted a Filmfare award, was left
disappointed again, as Vidya Balan walked away with the top honours.
As expected earlier, '3 Idiots' swept the Filmfare Awards, with six awards -
'Best Film', 'Best Director', 'Best Story', 'Best Screenplay', 'Best
Dialogue' and 'Best Supporting Actor'. Rajkumar Hirani won the 'Best
Director' awards, while the 'Best Supporting Actor' went to Boman Irani.
Music Maestro AR Rahman won the 'Best Music Director' award for 'Delhi-6'.
Amit Trivedi won the 'RD Burman Music Award' for 'Dev D'. The 'Lifetime
Achievement Awards' were presented to Shashi Kapoor and Khayyam.
The 55th Filmfare Awards were hosted by Bollywood Actors Shah Rukh Khan and
Saif Ali Khan. The ceremony was held at the Yash Raj Studios. A tribute was
given to legendary pop singer Michael Jackson by Shahid Kapoor.
Several Bollywood stars, including Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez
and Shahid Kapoor performed at the gala function.
