Serial killer’s 19th victim traced

28.03.10 : The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sleuths have traced the 19th victim of teacher-turned-notorious serial killer, Mohan Kumar on Saturday.

Of the 18 murder cases against Mohan Kumar of Dakshina Kannada district, forwarded to the State CID team for investigation, 11 were charge-sheeted.

The CID officials who arrested Mohan Kumar, nearly six months ago, during an interrogation, found that his 19th victim was a 22-year-old Arathi Nayak, a resident of Padre village from Kasaragod taluk, whose body was found at the KSRTC bus stand in Mysore in January 2006. During the interrogation, Mohan Kumar has also stated that he has killed many more women but had forgotten their details.

Police said that it is likely that there are many other women who have fallen victims of Mohan Kumar.
