Helping victims was not for publicity: Mohammed Sameer

28.05.10 Mangalore : The local resident of Bajpe Satish Devadiga and his friends called a press meet on May 26, Wednesday and said that the statement published on Mohammed Sameer in Kannada dailies reported falsely, but it was not done to gain publicity, said Mohammed Sameer Malavoor.

He was speaking at the press meet held at press club on May 28, Friday. He also said that I never given the statement to the media person that I helped Sabrina during the crash but since I was the eye witness of the plane crash I informed the matter to the control room through telephone at 6.02 am.

Sathish Devadiga also accused that I gave a false statement for the sake of reward and publicity and explained that none of the local people saw him at the site. But at 6.04 the police officials from nearest station called while at 6.14 am commissioner called and asked the details and the route to reach the spot.

Most of the resident reach the spot in 15 minutes and first noticed Dr Sabrina who was hung in one of the tree and asked for help hence we could rescue her.

I went to help the victims for humanity and not for publicity. Satish Devadiga an his family know me and my family very well but do not know what the reason behind to call the press meet and prove myself wrong, he added.
