A Book ‘TV Tolls for Teens’ by Dr. Ronald Anil Fernandes released

30.05.10 Mangalore : The book ‘TV Tolls for Teens’ authored by Dr. Ronald Anil Fernandes correspondent of Deccan Herald, was released by Fr. Denis D’sa, administration, Father Muller Medical College at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar on May 29, Saturday.

 Prof. K.V. Nagaraj, Professor and Head, Mass Communication & Journalism Dept., Assam University, Silchar, Assam was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Whereas Dr. Dominic D. , Associate Professor, Bangalore University PG Centre at Kolar and Dr. M. Byregowda, Publisher, Pragathi Graphics, Bangalore participated as the guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Denis D’sa said that media has the greater impact on society today. He also congratulated the author on conducting the study on the impact of TV on youth, which helps to take purposeful initiatives for the good of society.

Prof. K. V. Nagaraj expressed his concern over commercialisation of news.  He congratulated the author for finding time to research in to academics inspite of working as journalist. He also said that such more people are required to bridge the gap between the academic and the newsroom.
